EXCLUSIVE: Meenakshi Sundareshwar stars Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani talk about having an arrange marriage in real life

Meenakshi Sundareshwar actors Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani have been garnering a lot of praise from the fans for their performance in the movie. Meenakshi Sundareshwar was released on Netflix on November 5 and it is based on the life of a couple who had an arranged marriage but things get difficult when they have to stay in a long-distance relationship.

Arranged marriage is an age-old tradition in India and it is how most of the population finds their partner. But the tables have turned and the younger generation looks at the tradition as something from the yesteryears. So when we sat down for a candid chat with Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani, we asked the two if they would be ok with an arranged marriage and their reply was just astounding.

Sanya said, “I would love that.”  Abhimanyu added, “It would be convenient. See arrange marriage was done by the parents first and now friends and apps set it up. It’s just a different variation of the same thing. It’s not like the effort is less if you have to do it now. The effort is still there to be able to grow with another person and to understand that person in the short amount of time. I mean upar wale pe chod do.”
