Anirban Blah used to boast about making Deepika Padukone a star: Meira Omar

#MeToo movement in Bollywood has exposed a lot of people and many perceptions have been broken, after the likes of Nana Patekar, Sajid Khan, Vikas Bahl’s names getting exposed. Bollywood as an industry has taken a serious dent in terms of reputation. Now, in the new development regarding KWAN founder Anirban Ds Blah; Meira Omar has said that he used to boast about making Deepika Padukone the star that she is today and lot of credit should go to him. Anirban just a couple of days ago tried to commit suicide in the wake of his name coming up in sexual harassment allegations. Meira Omar had accused Anirban Blah of sexually harassing her.

In an interview to Zoom TV, Meira Omar said, “”A lot of girls come into this industry through an agency or something like that. Me being from Afghanistan, we are crazy about Bollywood, we grew up watching Bollywood and I’ve always had this dream to act in Bollywood.”

Meira then contacted KWAN and met Anirban and contacted him through WhatsApp and reached out to him. The interaction didn’t pan out as expected and Anirban later told her that his team was very basic and didn’t appreciate raw talent.

“He said I am the man who sees something, a diamond in the rough, what no one else can, this is what I’m known for. He then asked me to meet privately so he could evaluate himself. I will meet at our workplace. We can’t meet anywhere Bandra and Andheri West. Somewhere around that point, I felt that something’s not right so I just ignored the feeling,” she told Zoom TV.

Meira in the same interview said that she then met Anirban at his workplace and boasted about how he has an eye for talent and stars he has discovered and then talked about Deepika Padukone, “He said that when he took on Deepika she was struggling a bit to make an impact in the industry. But when he took her on and worked on her that’s when this change happened and she became a star thanks to him and due to the work that they had done together. He said that it was thanks to him, and then he picked up the phone to call her and he said that they worked very tightly and they were discussing her Vogue magazine cover. So I’m sitting there waiting and all I see is that I’m a little impressed about how this guy has helped Deepika and I looked up to Deepika and wanted to make me like her,” she said.

Anirban kept on talking about finding the sex appeal and uniqueness and that’s what helps you in becoming a star. He further gave her an assignment where he indirectly asked her for nude photographs to where he would sit and “discuss” with her. After this, when Meira reluctantly decided to meet him, Anirban tried kissing her but Meira ran out from the spot.

Anirban Das Blah has been facing serious issues and if this is true then Bollywood is facing a grave crisis when it comes to work place safety and many more incidents of sexual harassment might come out in open in the coming days.
