Mental Hai Kya: Was Kareena really the first choice and not Kangana? Here’s the truth

The posters of Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao-starrer ‘Mental Hai Kya’ have intrigued one and all, with the whacky appeal they portray. Rajkummar and Kangana are their ‘mental’ best and we can’t wait to see what the movie has to offer.

However, recently, some rumours started floating around that Kareena Kapoor Khan and not Kangana Ranaut, was the first choice for the role. While the gossip mills kept churning, the makers finally decided to come up with a statement, and they have boldly refuted all such reports.

Balaji Films have issued a statement that states;

Mental Hai Kya’ is a completely different script, which was written only last year. Balaji heard the script just six months back, and green lit the project. Kangana Ranaut was always the first and only choice for the film, and we are happy that she said yes to it soon after hearing the first narration. Kangana and Rajkummar Rao have been our first choices for the role. The looks that we released last week have garnered fabulous reactions from the audiences and we’re so excited to start shoot for this mental ride!
