A campaign called #MeToo has gained momentum on social media wherein women are coming out in the open to reveal about the harassment that they have suffered in the hands of men. From eve teasing to bullying, to molestation, it scares us to see the trauma that women face each passing day. Richa Chadha, who has been vocal about all the menace, has shared her thoughts over the same and her words make so much sense.
“First, I would like the media to carry a consistent campaign against sexual harassment, verbal or otherwise, not just discuss it in a hurry when it’s a ‘trending’ topic,” she said to IANS. (Also Read: Richa Chadha turns stand-up comedian and performs impromptu at an event)
Further adding, “Men all over the world need to recognise the privilege they have in that, they can wear what they want, do whatever they want, go wherever they want, hang out with who they want without anyone questioning their character.
The axis of the world is tilted in favour of the man. And I am not surprised by women contributing to the ‘MeToo’ campaign.” she concluded.
