Singer Mika Singh returns to UAE jail after court hearing

Singer Mika Singh, who was arrested in UAE for allegedly harassing a teenaged Brazilian model by sending her “indecent pictures” has been released. Mika was arrested the day before at 3 AM from a bar in Bur Dubai and was taken to Abu Dhabi police station as the complainant is holding an Abu Dhabi resident visa. Here a complaint was lodged in Al Muraqqabaat police station post which he was taken to Abu Dhabi. Apparently, the singer had promised the girl a job in Bollywood.

The singer was released due to the intervention of the Indian embassy in Dubai, this news was confirmed by Navdeep Singh Suri, the Indian Ambassador in UAE, to Gulf News. Suri further affirmed that the singer is expected to appear in a court later.

The singer’s team confirmed to ANI yesterday that Mika has been detained for alleged harassment and questioning is underway. His spokesperson further added to Hindustan Times that, “Mika is being framed. The investigation is on and he is cooperating with the authorities. Soon the truth will be out.”

In a new turn of events, as reported by Khaleej Times, The ‘Subah Ho Na De’ hitmaker who was arrested for sexual harassment in UAE and later released on Thursday night is back in Abu Dhabi jail. He was produced in the court today evening. And he has been sent back to police custody. Though it is not clear for how many days Mika has been detained. He is being further questioned by the authorities.

This is not the first time that the singer has faced charges of inappropriate behavior. He was accused of forcibly kissing the Bollywood’s controversial actor Rakhi Sawant and was involved in a fight with an audience member during a show.
