Filmmaker Milap Zaveri blames lockdown for Preksha Mehta’s suicide

We are living in such a gloomy time that every day the causes of people’s suffering are only increasing. The Coronavirus pandemic has affected the world so badly that people are taking the drastic step of ending their life due to despair. With no certainty about the future and loss of livelihood due to the lockdown, people have reached the dead end. The recent suicide of two young television actors – Manmeet Grewal and Preksha Mehta, indicates at the testing times we all are living in.

Reacting on 25-year-old actress Preksha’s suicide, filmmaker Milap Zaveri has blamed the lockdown for her death.

Preksha committed suicide as she was unsure if she will get work once the lockdown was lifted. She was depressed about not being able to fulfil her dreams and about the way her career was shaping.

Commenting on the young actress’ drastic step, Milap told SpotboyE, “If we don’t end this lockdown these deaths are also going to be on our conscience. We are reporting daily figures of the virus and reacting. The hidden figures of the deaths n lives destroyed by the economic devastation will come out in months ahead. RIP.”

Earlier, television actor Manmeet Grewal had also committed suicide as he was unable to make the ends meet owing to the financial crisis caused by the lockdown.
