Mimi: Kriti Sanon drops teaser; trailer of the surrogacy drama to be out on THIS date

The teaser of Kriti Sanon’s Mimi was unveiled today. The actress announced that the film’s trailer will release on July 13. The teaser shows different stages of Kriti Sanon’s character, Mimi’s pregnancy – from an excitement-filled first trimester to a stressful last one. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Pahwa and Sai Tamhankar and Supriya Pathak. Sanon and Tripathi have earlier shared screen space in Luka Chuppi and Bareilly ki Barfi.

Mimi is based on the Marathi film Mala Aai Vahhaychy! which won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2011. Dropping the teaser, Kriti wrote, “It’s nothing like what you’re expecting!? Delivering the #Mimi trailer on 13th JULY, #Tuesday! Beyondddd Thrilled!! ????? Stay tuned! #MimiTrailer13July (sic).”

On Thursday (July 8) Kriti shared the first look poster with a caption that read, “This July, expect the extraordinary from the ordinary! ✨ Stay tuned.”

This got the actress’ fans excited as they hoped that Mimi is perhaps headed for a direct OTT release. On July 6, Kriti Sanon had wished Ranveer Singh on his 36th birthday with an unseen still from Mimi. The actress wrote that Ranveer is her and her character Mimi’s favourite. She wrote, “Dear Ranveer Singh, You are Mimi’s FAVOURITE! And Mine too. Wish you a very happy birthday!! @ranveersingh From Mimi & Me #HappyBirthdayRanveerSingh #Mimi (sic).”
