Today, the makers of Mimi have released the trailer. Kriti Sanon took to her social media handles to share the trailer of her upcoming film, Mimi. She plays a surrogate mother, Mimi. In the trailer, we see Pankaj Tripathi’s character coming to Mimi and persuading her to be a surrogate mother for an American couple. For this, she will be paid Rs. 20 lakh by the couple. Well, the trailer starts with a comic note with some of the rib-tickling dialogues by Pankaj Tripathi and Kriti Sanon. Mimi is worried as to how she will explain the baby bump to her parents and she is also concerned about her body but Sai Tamhankar’s character tells her that she can stay at her home. Pankaj and Kriti turn into a Muslim couple and Sai’s character introduces Kriti’s character as Chand and Pankaj’s character as her husband Naseeruddin. Later, the emotional journey starts when the couple asks Mimi to abort the child. She returns home and while being interrogated by her parents about the father of her child, she breaks down and points at Pankaj’s character. Finally, Mimi delivers the baby.
Sharing the trailer, Kriti wrote on Instagram, “#MimiTrailer | Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi | Dinesh Vijan | Laxman Utekar #Mimi expected everything, except for this unexpected journey! ?Here is My Mimi for you! ????Watch the glimpse of her unexpected story with your family(sic)”.

Mimi is directed by Laxman Utekar and backed by Dinesh Vijan. It will premiere on Netflix and Jio Cinema on July 30. Apart from Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi and Sai Tamhankar, Mimi also stars Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa in pivotal roles.
While talking about the film, Kriti had earlier told IANS, “I am very excited. It’s based on the subject of surrogacy but actually it’s the story of this young girl who wants to be an actor. She’s a dancer in Mandawa and she ends up being a surrogate for a couple. Then, the things that follow change her life and also change her as a person.”
