Who can forget the infamous ‘puppy’ analogy that Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput drew on the occasion of Mother’s Day? The lady had said, “I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and then rush off to work. Why did I have her then? She is not a puppy. I want to be there for her as a mother. Seeing her grow up cannot be quantified.” Mira received a lot of flak for this statement. Some said that she had insulted working mothers and some even went on to say that she had insulted even pet mothers, with this insenstive statement. Though both Mira and Shahid tried to explain, but the cat was out of the bag, and the damage had been done.
Recently, while speaking to a leading daily, Mira opened up on the same and tried to clarify and justify her stance.
“I think I was very vulnerable at that time because I was a new mom then. That comes with a lot of responsibilities, and you also have a lot of emotions. I think my emotions got the better of me at that time,” the young mother said. (Also Read: Shahid and Mira’s daughter takes her baby steps and our heart melts!)
Well, we don’t know if this remark of hers would undo the damage that the statement made. One also remembers how hubby Shahid too had jumped in to defend the love of his life, his wife, by saying, “I was actually laughing through most of it telling Mira, ‘Welcome to my world, wherein you will have to learn to be a little more careful’. Well, she is not an actor; and has the freedom to say what she feels. I think she is very mature for her age and speaks well and is clear about her thoughts. I honestly never felt the need to defend her because she defends herself and I think, a lot of times, she defends me also well at gatherings or when I am out with her. Maybe, I am a less confident person than she is. So, she has handled it [the controversy] really well.”
Mira and Shahid got married in the year 2015, and were blessed with a little baby girl in the month of August last year, who they named Misha.
