Irrfan Khan left for his heavenly abode on April 29 in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He was suffering from a colon infection. Khan, 53 was buried at the Versova Kabrastan in Mumbai. His untimely death created a void not only in his family but also in the entire industry.
Mita Vashisht, who was Irrfan’s batchmate in National School of Drama (NSD) shared her feelings on the death of the actor. She told us, “There is only one way to let go is that you have to make a commitment to your life. You have to know that if you are alive, He (referring to God) wants you alive. If you are alive, you have no right to be sad.”
She also went to the funeral of Irrfan Khan. Mita said that Irrfan came in her dreams two weeks before his death and she knew that he is going to die. “Irrfan ka jana bohot hi ajeeb tha. Jane ke do hafte pehle mujhe aake bye bolke gaya tha aur mujhe samajh main aa gaya tha woh conversation se ki ye nahi rehne wala hain. Sapne main hum baatein kar rahe the aur jab main uthi, mujhe laga ye toh jane wala hain. Tabhi maine aapne common friends ko pucha ‘kaisa hain woh?’, unlogon ne bola acche hain. Tab maine saaf bol diya ki ye jana wala hain, toh pucho jaldi ‘kya main mil sakti hoon?,” said the actress.
She added, “When I pass by the burial ground where he is buried, I have a strange feeling that he is lying there on the other side of the wall and I am passing by the other side.”
