‘Aaina’: Monali Thakur’s song featuring Anushka Sen and Harsh Rajput wins over the internet

The ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ and ‘Sawaar Loon’ voice, Monali Thakur is back again with a fresh new song to rule the hearts of everyone. This time it’s not for a movie, but an independent song called ‘Aaina’, as a part of the Doublemint Freshtake series in association with Songfest India, featuring TV sensation- Anushka Sen, who has been winning millions of hearts through her performances, alongside Harsh Rajput.

Monali has sung the original Hindi version – ‘Aaina’, alongside Ranajoy Bhattacharjee, an award-winning composer who has also crafted the tune for the song. An enchanting melody woven with beautiful words by singer and lyricist, Geet Sagar, has received a lot of love from the viewers in a couple of days since its release, crossing 3 million views and charted on the YouTube top 10 trending videos.

Apart from the charismatic voice of Monali, what makes ‘Aaina’ special is a unique story around two siblings, portrayed in the music video; a bond that is unbreakable and one of the purest of the relations. The music video of the Doublemint Freshtake series was released on 26 August 2020 on Songfest India YouTube channel, along with a Bengali Freshtake version “Surer Bagan” that has been written and sung by Ranajoy along with popular singer Chandrika Bhattacharya.
