On Wednesday, the city civil court in Mumbai restrained Kamaal R Khan from posting or publishing any defamatory content about Salman Khan, his business endeavours or his films. This interim order came after the Radhe actor had sought contempt action against KRK for continuing to pass ‘defamatory remarks’ against him. The superstar had filed a defamation suit against KRK.
According to the India Today report, on June 23, while passing the restraining order against KRK, Additional Sessions Judge C V Marathe said, “A good name is better than riches. Reputation is a sort of right to enjoy the good opinion of others and it is a personal right and an injury to the reputation is personal injury. A good reputation is an element of personal security and is protected by the Constitution equally with the right to the enjoyment of life. Reputation and honour are no less precious to good men than bodily safety and freedom. In some cases, they may be dearer than life itself.”

During the hearing, Salman Khan’s counsel had argued that “personal allegations against Salman Khan are baseless’’. He also accused KRK of misusing social media platforms to defame, malign and propagate defamatory content. KRK’s counsel opposed the arguments made by the actor’s advocate.
Meanwhile, after passing the interim order the court has also stated that this restraint will be in effect till the final disposal of the suit.
