Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are one of the best actors in Bollywood and there is no doubt in it. After their ads together, viewers were keen to see the two stars together on the big screen. The film celebrates the journey of a boy of Mumbai streets as he goes on to become one of India’s most notable rappers. ‘Gully Boy’ talks about the everyday struggle, grit and determination of the voiceless and the unseen talents. Special mention has to go to Vijay Raaz and Kalki Koechlin, who has a small but important role. It also gave us some strong dialogues including ‘Tu Kaun hai? Aukaat kya hai tera?’ and ‘Mere boyfriend se guru gulu karegi toh dhoptungi na usko’, ‘Apna time aayega’.

As soon as the trailer was out on the internet, the memes were flooded. Mumbai Police, well known for their witty tweets, also shared a meme this morning which uses a dialogue from the ‘Gully Boy’ trailer. As with all their tweets, this one too contains an important message presented in a hilarious way.

The road safety meme uses Alia Bhatt’s “Mar jayega tu (you’ll die)” dialogue from the film’s trailer – said in response to someone when they want to ride a motorcycle without wearing helmet.

Now, it will be interesting to see how Ranveer and Alia react to it. The film is based on the life and struggles of rapper Divine – its name is inspired by his breakout song, Mere Gully Mein – and his troupe of street rappers, who go by the name ‘Gully Gang’. The film also features Kalki Koechlin and she is seen playing the role of a carefree girl. The film also stars Ali Asgar, Parmeet Sethi and Pooja Gaur in the lead roles.

Importantly, ‘Gully Boy’ will premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival’s Berlinale Special category, ahead of its release on February 14.
