Music composer Shantanu Moitra’s father passes away; Shoojit Sircar, Shreya Ghoshal, Harshdeep Kaur mourn his demise

Music composer and singer, Shantanu Moitra has lost his father.  He shared the news on his social media handles. Sharing a picture of himself with his ‘babai’, Shantanu mourned his death. The music composer of Parineeta penned a few lines from the song Chaar Kadam (PK) as he paid tribute to his dad.

“Chaar kadam bus chaar kadam chal do na Saath mere…..my best friend, my mentor ,my Babai left us . He went smilingly and with dignity .I will keep wishing I could walk Chaar Kadam more with him…Will miss you Babai(sic)”, wrote Shantanu.

Celebs from the music industry poured in their condolences for Shantanu and his family. Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar wrote, “Prayers and condolences” while Shreya Ghoshal wrote, “A void which will never go away. He was a great man, a gentle loving soul. I was so privileged to know him and be blessed by him. His presence will be missed too deeply”.

On March 9, Shantanu’s parents took their Covid-10 vaccine. He shared a picture of them from the vaccination centre and wrote, “Ma and Babai just took their covid vaccine. When u think of the probability of a vaccine reaching u safely ,in a billion plus country , u have nothing but admiration for team India(sic)”.

A few days back, he posted an old picture of himself with his mother and also wrote in his post that his parents were recovering from COVID.
