Nana Patekar is an actor par excellence. He has delivered memorable roles in Hindi as well as South cinema. One of them is Uday Shetty from the Welcome franchise. The third part of the film, Welcome To The Jungle featuring an ensemble cast is currently the talk of the town. To note, Nana Patekar is not a part of Welcome 3. Recently, at an event he spilled beans about the same.

At the press conference of The Vaccine War, the actor was questioned about not being a part of the sequel. Reacting to this he told, “I am not a part of it, maybe they think hum bohot puraane ho gaye hai (I have become dated) He (Director Vivek Agnihotri) doesn’t think I have become so old, so he cast me in his film. It’s that simple.”

To note, The Vaccine War marks his comeback on the big screen after a hiatus of six years. He was accused of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement by Tanushree Dutta. Talking about why he remained away from the screens, he said at the press conference, “The industry was never closed for me. The industry never closes its doors on you. If you want to do good work, they’ll come to you and ask you. You have to decide if you can do it, if you want to do it or not. I feel this is my first and last chance, and utni hi jaan daalni chaahiye usmein. Everybody gets work (here), it depends on you if you want to do it or not.”

Talking about The Vaccine War, it sheds light on how Indian scientists developed affordable vaccine during COVID-19 pandemic. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film also stars Anupam Kher, Sapthami Gowda, Pallavi Joshi, and Raima Sen. It is all set to hit the big screens on September 28, 2023.

Meanwhile, Welcome 3 boasts an ensemble cast that includes Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez and Disha Patani among others. It is slated to be released on Christmas 2024.
