Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda has lashed out at Uttrakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat after he criticised women wearing ripped jeans. While speaking at a workshop in Dehradun the CM said, “Showing bare knees by wearing ripped jeans just to look like rich kids is the value given now which is just a race towards westernisation when the Western world today is following us. Ripped jeans pave the way for societal breakdown and is a bad example parent set for children.”
Now reacting to the CM’s remark, Navya not only shared her picture wearing ripped jeans but also criticised Rawat’s statement. Read on to know what she said.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Navya reacting to the Uttrakhand CM’s remark wrote, “Change your mentality before changing our clothes ? because the only thing shocking here is the message comments like this send to society. Just (angry emojis).”
She also posted her picture in ripped jeans and captioned it as, “I’ll wear my ripped jeans. Thank you. And I’ll wear them proudly.”
Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s daughter Navya is quite active on social media. She had recently made her Instagram profile public. On the work front, Navya has co-founded Aara Health, a healthcare company that focuses on women. She has also launched Project Naveli that aims towards building gender equality in India.
