Navya Naveli Nanda gives a savage reply to a troll who questioned her absence at the inauguration of Period Positive Home

Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda started a new initiative on women empowerment in India. She launched Project Naveli in January this year and she has received praises for the same. Project Naveli creates opportunities and resources for women so that they are economically and socially empowered. The NGO recently inaugurated a ‘Period Positive Home’ at Gadchiroli in Maharashtra. She shared a series of pictures from the event on her Instagram handle. Navya is currently in New York.

An Instagram user asked her, “If the project meant so much to you, then where were you in the inauguration?” Navya hit back at the troll with a befitting reply. She replied, “I’m sure you’re aware we’re in the middle of a pandemic?”

Sharing the pics from the inauguration, Navya wrote, “Our first Period Positive Home was inaugurated today in Gadchiroli ?Seeing this project come to life has been so fulfilling. We are excited to build 6 more homes such as these, very soon so we can continue to fight against the age old custom of banishment to huts during menstruation.Thank you for ensuring women everywhere can have a safe and happy period ?“Menstruation is the only blood not born from violence, yet it’s the one that disgusts you the most”(sic)”.

Everyone was in praise for her including her rumoured boyfriend Meezaan. He wrote, “Unreal! Super proud”. Sonali Bendre called it “amazing”.

This is not the first time Navya is trolled. Earlier too for her project, she became the victim of trolls but she gave subtle replies.

For the unversed, Navya Naveli Nanda graduated from New York’s Fordham University last year. Then she started an online healthcare portal called Aara Health.
