Nawazuddin Siddiqui on bagging a nod for Serious Men at Emmy awards: ‘it is an amazing feeling to be nominated’

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is one of the most sought after actors in Bollywood has once again gained international fame. Earlier, his cult series, Sacred Games had been nominated at the International Emmy Awards 2019. Though it did not bag any awards, fetching nods for India at the coveted international platform was in itself a huge achievement. Well, once again, he is nominated for Best Actor for his film, Serious Men at Emmy awards 2021.

Expressing his happiness to a portal, Nawaz said the earlier experience to be at the Emmys was surreal and this time, he feels amazing to be nominated. “I have previously been at the Emmys and the experience was surreal. As an actor, you sometimes question yourself whether you have made the right choice. But when you get recognition on an international platform, it validates your choices. It gives you the confidence to make some bold choices. It is simply an amazing feeling to be nominated,” he told News18.

“There are some great actors who are nominated and it’s just amazing to be nominated. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best,” he added.

The 47-year-old-actor credits his director for his performance, “The kind of freedom I got from Sudhir sir, the track that he led me on, it made me feel the man is somewhere me. All I had to do was just play him then,” adding, “It is such a local character which can be found at every nook and corner. I believe the character is extremely local and hence has a global appeal.”

Siddiqui even shared a post on his Instagram captioning, “Wow!!!! #SeriousMen has got me a nomination for the prestigious #InternationalEmmyAwards in the Best Actor category Congratulations Team #SeriousMen Director #SudhirMishra  @sejtherage @bhavesh_mandalia @manujosephsan & last but not the least @netflix_in @netflix @iemmys”
