NCB confirms Rhea Chakraborty’s statement about her procuring drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested yesterday (September 8) by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with a drug case linked to her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) charged her with abetment in possession, sale, purchase, consumption, transportation of substances under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).

As per IANS, Rhea Chakraborty, in her statement to the Narcotics Control Bureau accepted that she procured drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput and was also handling the finances.

In its application for Rhea’s judicial custody for 14 days, NCB said, “During her statement, Rhea Chakraborty revealed about her involvement in procurement of drugs and financial transactions and also her instructions to Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant and Showik Chakraborty.”

“Therefore it is clear that the respondent is an active member of drug syndicate connected with drug supplies. It is also clear from the statement that the present respondent used to procure drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput for consumption purpose. The present respondent used to manage finance for drug procurement along with Sushant Singh Rajput,” NCB said in the application.

Yesterday, Rhea was presented in front of the magistrate at 7:30 pm via video conferencing and she was sent for 14 days of judicial custody. The actress’ bail plea was also rejected. She has been arrested under sections 89(c), 20(b), 27(a), 28 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
