The debate surrounding the consumption of banned drugs by Bollywood stars doesn’t seem to end anytime soon. And what was just an evening of letting their hair down at Karan Johar’s house party last year has now turned to be a matter of investigation.

Yes, the viral video from KJo’s star-studded house party has now come under the scanner of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). A few days back, former MLA and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had filed a complaint with the NCB requesting them to investigate if the stars consumed drugs at Karan’s party.

Now the latest reports state that NCB has taken up Sirsa’s complaint and has asked its Mumbai unit to look into the matter.

According to a report in Times Now, the team of NCB has taken Sirsa’s complaint into consideration and has even sent the viral video of Karan’s house party to a forensic lab to gauge its authenticity. If the video turns out to be genuine, then NCB will go ahead with their investigation and perhaps also file a criminal case.

Even last year after the video went viral, Manjinder Singh Sirsa had accused Karan of organising a drug party. He recently wrote a letter to NCB chief Rakesh Asthana to investigate the party video.

On September 15, sharing his letter addressed to the NCB chief Rakesh Asthana, Sirsa had tweeted, “I met Sh. Rakesh Asthana, Chief of @narcoticsbureauat BSF headquarter, Delhi regarding submission of complaint for investigation & action against film Producer @karanjohar & others for organizing drug party at his residence in Mumbai That party video must be investigated into!(sic).”

In his complaint, Sirsa has named several celebs- Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Malaika AroraVarun DhawanArjun KapoorShahid Kapoor and others and has accused them of ‘consumption, possession, and allowing premises to be used for commission of offences, cognizable in nature under chapter IV of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985’.

Previously, talking about his complaint, Sirsa had told Republic TV, “I met NCB chief and stressed on reinvestigating the matter of drugs of 2019. NCB chief gave assurance of investigation into Karan Johar’s party in 2019. Mumbai Police had not responded to Karan Johar house party complaint filed by me last year. There must be two reasons – one, they(Mumbai Police) are hand in glove with them, and secondly, that drug is a very common thing.”

Reportedly, Sirsa is also planning to file a formal complaint against Mumbai police for their inaction on his previous complaint.
