Neena Gupta REACTS to her ‘faltu feminism’ comment, says ‘They only used that chunk to create controversy’

Recently, the actress has been witnessing backlash over her comment about ‘faltu feminism’. And now, the actress has cleared the air around the controversy.

Neena Gupta clears the air around ‘faltu feminism’ comment

For the unversed, Neena Gupta recently got into a chat with Ranveer Ahlabadia where she shared that it is not necessary for women to believe in the idea of feminism. She had said, “I want to say that it’s not necessary to believe in faltu feminism or the idea that women are equal to men.” This particular statement by Neena created a controversy all over social media for which she also received backlash.

Now, Neena Gupta got into an interview with Indian Express where she broke silence about the same. She said that the team had purposely carried that statement to create a controversy. She said, “What they did is that they only used that chunk from the whole interview for promotions, to create a controversy. It said that I don’t believe in ‘faltu feminism’, and after that people are fighting amongst each other. If one person is cursing me for saying that, someone else says, ‘What do you know? Watch the whole interview’. There should be a reference to what I said.”

Neena says she has been ‘cautious’ on social media

Further, Neena also added that she has been very cautious about what she is putting on her social media handles. She said, “I have made mistakes a couple of times. Many of us do. I now make sure that I don’t post anything on social media if I am angry, or if I’ve had a fight with someone. One should also not post if they are drunk, because if you do, then you regret it later. Thoda sambhalna padta hai (You have to be careful). You have to use the right language because a lot of people are listening to what you say. I have goofed up big time too.” 

Well, speaking of her workfront, Neena Gupta was recently seen in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, Charlie Chopra and The Mystery of Solang Valley and Lust Stories 2. Now, Neena Gupta will be seen in her upcoming movie Metro…In Dino.
