The year 2020 left a huge void in cinephiles’ hearts as it took away some of the most celebrated actors from the Indian film industry. After battling cancer for over two years, Rishi Kapoor left for the heavenly abode on April 30 last year. His untimely death left his family and fans devastated.
Rishi’s wife Neetu Kapoor recently opened up about his demise. The veteran actress, who is all set to make a comeback with Jug Jugg Jeeyo, said that she gathered the courage to work post her husband’s demise as only that would help her get over the grief.
Neetu Kapoor was seen on the silver screen back in 2013 when she shared the screen space with her husband Rishi Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam. The veteran actress is now making a comeback after almost eight years. In Raj Mehta’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo, she will be seen alongside Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani.
Last year, while shooting for Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Neetu had contracted Coronavirus. Revealing how a healthy diet and some exercise helped her beat Corona, Neetu told Mid-Day, “I have a disciplined diet, I cannot even do cheat days. I drank lots of kaadhas, giloy (moonseed leaves) water, chai, amla with beetroot and ginger juice. I lost the sense of smell for three weeks. As soon as the smell and taste started coming back, I tested negative. I felt so much relief!”

Recently, Neetu confirmed that her son Ranbir has also contracted the deadly virus. Thanking his well-wishers for their concern, the Do Dooni Chaar actress posted, “Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions(sic).”
