Neetu Kapoor shares a rare throwback picture of little Rishi Kapoor in Lata Mangeshkar’s arms as she mourns her death

The Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar passed away at 92. She breathed her last at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at 8:12 am today. She was diagnosed with Covid and pneumonia, while had recovered from Covid, she had other health complications.

The entire nation is in mourning and they have been sharing their condolences on social media. Neetu Kapoor also shared her condolences on social media along with which she shared a rare gem which was a throwback picture of Rishi Kapoor with Lata Mangeshkar.

The legendary singer was kept in ICU and on ventilator support when her condition deteriorated. Talking about her health condition and reason for death, ANI shared the Doctor’s statement who was treating the singer. It read, “It is with profound grief that we announce the sad demise of #LataMangeshkar at 8:12 am. She has died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalisation post #COVID19: Dr Pratit Samdani, who was treating her at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital” The funeral of Lata Mangeshkar will take place at Shivaji Park today and her last rites will be done with full state honours. Her mortal remains will be taken to her home Prabhu Kunj at 12:30 PM. She will be cremated at 6:30 PM.

Lata Mangeshkar was the oldest of the siblings Meena Khadikar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar and Hridaynath Mangeshkar. She received the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in the year 2001.
