The whole nation remembered late actor Rishi Kapoor fondly yesterday on his birth anniversary. Rishi Kapoor was very close to his family and it is no secret that he always wanted to see his son Ranbir Kapoor married and settled down. On the occasion of his 69th birth anniversary, Rishi’s actress wife Neetu Kapoor talked about her late husband’s most cherished desires. She said that Rishi wanted to see Ranbir getting married and along with that he also wanted to see the Krishna Raj bungalow on Pali Hill completely redeveloped.
Speaking to the Quint, Neetu talked about the most cherished desires of Rishi Kapoor, “One was to see Ranbir wearing a turban with an emerald and a broach in the Peshawari tradition – astride a ghodi, on his wedding day. He was totally sentimental about this, he’d keep saying, “Kisi din, mujhe humaare bete ko ghodi pe sawaar dekhna hai.”
She further revealed that Rishi’s second wish was to see the Krishna Raj house redeveloped and complete with three different apartments for Riddhima, Ranbir and Rishi-Neetu. Neetu said that Rishi would visit the site every day to supervise before the pandemic.
Talking about his 69th birth anniversary, Neetu opened up what he would have done if Rishi was alive, “Oh, I’m sure he’d get himself a new suit like he always did. And he’d take two hours to get ready, while I just took an hour at most. He was very fond of clothes of all colours – even yellow, purple, green and gold because he could carry them off. I don’t know how many suits and jackets are still there in his wardrobe, unworn, with the price tags on. And he was crazy about shoes, too, of all colours again!”
