Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s role in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ mesmerised one and all, but there were some who thought that she went a little over board with the intimate scenes with Ranbir Kapoor. With appreciation, she received some flak too, for romancing an actor younger to her. But here’s what the diva thinks about these negative comments. In a recent interview, she said that the noise that her character in ‘ADHM’ created is lesser than the noise created by her in ‘Dhoom 2’.
She exclaimed, “Well fortunately, there hasn’t been that excessive a noise, umm, in fact there was probably more chatter during ‘Dhoom 2’, and umm, there hasn’t been around this, which is… which is wonderful, which is what, how many years since ‘Dhoom 2’ now, maybe 10 years, right? So, that’s.. that’s saying a lot.” [sic]

She went on to say that she has declined many projects in the west because she was not comfortable with the intimacy portrayed on-screen. She said, “I was declining some wonderful work in the West because I personally also wasn’t comfortable with the idea of intimacy on celluloid, but I keep referring to everything as, I think to the audience, everything is relative to how much they are exposed to.”
So was she shocked to receive such a response from the audience? She quipped, “No, I mean the response of the audience and critics and all was obviously. I mean, there, you saw the results in the movie itself, people kind of loved the movie and all of that.”
Directed by Karan Johar, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ also stared Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan.
