Neha Dhupia shares a beautiful video with daughter Mehr on International Breastfeeding Week

Neha Dhupia who tied the knot with actor Angad Bedi last year was blessed with a beautiful baby girl whom she named Mehr. The actress has recently been making the rounds of the internet for her video in which she is talking about how there’s still so much of consciousness surrounding breastfeeding.

The actress recently shared a video on her Instagram handle, in which she is seen talking about her journey of 8 months as a mother. Through the video, Neha introduced people to her initiative ‘Freedom to Feed’. The actress wants to create awareness about women’s freedom to feed their babies.

The video begins with the birth date of Mehr Dhupia Bedi ‘18-11-18’ written on a board and shows various glimpses of Neha kissing her, cuddling her, feeding her and putting her to sleep.  She also talks about her experience of being a mother that includes sleepless nights and how it has made her an expert at getting her daughter to burp.

Stressing on the need to breastfeed a baby for the first six months, the actress reveals that she continues to do so even today. “It makes you realise the importance of a support system and a lack of it,” she said.

Neha went on to share an incident in which she had announced in a flight that she will be occupying the bathroom for 15 mins as she wanted to breastfeed her daughter.“Everyone knew I was taking my daughter in and what was actually going on. I remember taking her on me and the only thing I was looking up and just hoping that the seatbelt sign doesn’t go on before my little one finishes her feed,” shared the actress.

The ‘Tumhari Sulu’ actress also spoke about how she doesn’t understand why there is so much consciousness about breastfeeding. “I don’t understand the consciousness behind it and why we need to be apologetic for doing something so right. But I guess, it’s all a part of the package,” says Neha in the video.

Neha also emphasised that mothers do not need to be apologetic about breastfeeding. Urging mothers to share their stories, the actress concluded the video.
