Neha Dhupia opens up on being judged for marrying Angad Bedi

Weddings in B-town are generally a gala affair. However, some celebs prefer to keep their personal life away from the limelight. Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi got married in a hush-hush wedding on May 10, 2018. The couple’s wedding came as a huge surprise for everyone. Neha recently opened up about how people harshly judged her for having a hush-hush and low-key wedding.

The actress shared the kind of judgements people passed on her decision to marry Angad spontaneously.

Neha dropped a video on her Instagram handle in which she shared about the kind of harsh things people said about her low-key wedding to Angad. The actress also went on to share how Angad proposed to her suddenly and the decision to tie the knot was taken spontaneously.

The actress shared, “People normally date for a long time before getting married, right? But in my case, it was very different. Angad and I were just friends and I didn’t expect him to propose so spontaneously. Ek din woh mere ghar aaya and he asked my parents if he could marry me. My parents were like, ‘You do and we are here to support you.”

Further sharing how people were judgemental about her marriage, Neha said, “We had a low-key wedding two days later and that was an invitation for a lot of judgment. ‘Ladki ne late shaadi ki na (Oh, the girl got married so late)?’ ‘Achcha, ladka chhota hai ladki se (Oh, the man is younger than the woman)?’”

Neha and Angad’s wedding was an intimate affair. They exchanged wedding vows in a Gurudwara on May 10, 2018. The couple welcomed their first child, Mehr in November that year. The actress is known for shutting down trolls and when people chose to pass comments on her wedding, she chose to live her life on her own terms.
