Neha Dhupia finally reveals why she hid her pregnancy

Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia left her fans and friends stunned when she tied the knot with her beau Angad Bedi in a hush-hush manner in Delhi. The couple later jointly announced on their social media handle that they were married. Soon speculation abounded that the reason behind their sudden marriage is quite possibly Neha’s pregnancy, but the rumours were constantly denied by Angad and other family members.

Finally three months after tying the knot Neha and Angad took to Twitter to confirm rumours of her pregnancy in August. “Ha! Turns out this rumour is true,” Angad wrote. The couple also shared a series of special portraits, showing them in different poses. Since then Neha has been proudly flaunting her baby bump. She even walked the ramp at the recently concluded Lakme India Fashion Week.

Now the #NoFilterNeha host has finally revealed the real reason she had kept her pregnancy hidden.

In an interview to Mid-Day Neha said, “I was worried people would stop offering work. It was a good thing my bump wasn’t showing till the sixth month because appearances matter here, and one might be assumed to be unfit for a job. Fortunately, my energy levels are high. I am not going to take a maternity leave. It’s not that I am against women who decide to take those months off. It’s my choice. He(Angad) is the best dad-in-the-making but I am worried about what will happen when he and the baby will gang up on me.”

In an interview to Hindustan Times, Angad had said that he was very proud of the person Neha is. He feels that she has done some great work and made a name for herself in this industry. He further added that she has given him a great perspective of life and he is proud of her.

Neha and Angad are expecting their first child in November.

On the work front, Neha has already kicked off the third instalment of ‘No Filter Neha’ and has even shot for 3 episodes. She has also wrapped up film ‘Helicopter Eela’ and the show ‘Styled by Neha’ which will go on air soon.
