Netizens dig out old tweets of Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Anupam Kher as fuel price skyrockets

So far the year 2020 has proved to be a very challenging one. On one hand, we are fighting the pandemic and on the other hand, we all have to deal with the skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel. Prices of fuel have been rising for 19 consecutive days.

Now netizens have expressed their displeasure over this price hike and some of them have even dug out old tweets and rebuked celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher for condemning the price hike in the past but not raising their voice now.

For the first time in decades, the price of diesel has surpassed the price of petrol. Netizens wasted no time in pointing out how celebs like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar have kept mum on the issue now despite speaking against it in the past.

Back in 2011, Akshay had tweeted, “Couldn’t even get to my house at nite for all of Mumbai was queuing up for #petrol before the prices rocketed again.” Whereas in 2012, Big B had shared a joke, “T 753 -Petrol up Rs 7.5 : Pump attendent – ‘Kitne ka daloon ?’ ! Mumbaikar – ‘2-4 rupye ka car ke upar spray kar de bhai, jalana hai !!'”
