Nick Jonas spills the beans from the first mother’s day celebration for Priyanka Chopra, daughter Malti Marie

It was in January this year that Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra announced the birth of their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. The couple took everyone by surprise in India and in Hollywood as well with this happy news. They took the path of surrogacy and on January 22 they shared the happy news of their daughter’s arrival. But it wasn’t until this Mother’s Day that the couple shared their first picture with their kid and it was just too beautiful.

Recently, Nick Jonas made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he spoke about becoming a new father. Talking about his experience of fatherhood, he shared, “It’s pretty wild. You know our little girl’s home and she is doing amazing. What a gift a baby is.” The actor-singer also joked about how everyone around him has been giving him parenting advice since the day he became a dad. “It turns out everybody I know is a newborn-care specialist. Everyone’s an expert. All these PhD’s I didn’t know they had,” he laughed.

Not just that, Nick Jonas also revealed how he brought in the first Mother’s Day for wife Priyanka Chopra. “It was her first one, so we did a little thing at the house. (I) got her a citrus tree that I’m gonna plant this week. YouTube ‘how to plant a tree’,” he quipped. When asked about if there is any significance behind this gift, he just laughed it off, saying, “New life, new things growing and the beauty of citrus trees.”

While sharing the couple’s first glimpse with their daughter, Priyanka also penned a heartfelt note on their journey of bringing their newborn home. She wrote, “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every Doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and caretakers in my life and out there. You make it look so easy. Thank you. Also.. there is no one I’d rather do this with than you. Thank you for making me a mama @nickjonas I love you. (sic)”

Priyanka, Nick and their daughter Malti are now all happy and healthy back home and the three of them are really enjoying this new phase of family life together. Recently, Priyanka returned to work as she went to complete the shoot of Citadel. This morning, she also shared a selfie with dirt and blood on her face, promising some raw and intense performance in her upcoming series.
