Nikhil Dwivedi takes a dig at celebs sharing their Maldives vacay pictures amidst spike in Covid-19 cases

As the Unlock phases started, celebs started jetting off to their favourite destinations. While some flew to Goa, some to Dubai and most of them went to Maldives. From Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Tara Sutaria to Rakul Preet Singh to Disha Patani, many celebs went for vacationing in this exotic location.

Actor-producer Nikhil Dwivedi has taken to social media to slam the celebs for posting pictures from their Maldivian vacay. He retweeted Barkha Dutt’s tweet and calling out the stars, wrote, “Absolutely. Then we r surprised at the suddenness of the backlash the movie industry receives for unrelated reasons. We r so self-absorbed &so oblivious to what’s around us tht we appear unempathatic. Let me also assure it’s not like they r heartless, none are.. just plain stupid.”

Barkha Dutt’s tweet read, “With apology to #Maldives but I just cant bear to see one more sun-kissed, rippled water image from there while our COVID numbers surge & jobs plummet. Its sort of the November version of Banana Bread & Celebrities would be be well advised on the tone-deafness of it.”

Recently, Nikhil tested positive for Covid-19. He is currently under home quarantine.
