Radhika Madan and Nimrat Kaur are two most talented actresses in Bollywood. Radhika and Nimrat have proved how versatile as an actor they are by taking up challenging projects over the years. Recently, they delivered terrific performance in Mikhil Musale’s directorial Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video. As fans continue to shower love on them, Radhika and Nimrat along with directorial Mikhil joined Bollywood Bubble for a candid conversation. The actresses opened up about working with late Irrfan Khan.
Nimrat Kaur and Radhika Madan remember Irrfan Khan
While Nimrat Kaur was seen with Irrfan Khan in The Lunchbox, Radhika starred opposite him in Angrezi Medium. Recalling the The Lunchbox days, Nimrat said, “With Irrfan, I didn’t have the pleasure of working with him. We shared a movie but never screen space. So, I infact was telling this to Radhika which she also didn’t realize, which most people actually don’t that in Lunchbox we don’t have any scenes together. And obviously that’s the point of the film. It’s an unrequited love story so woh ek wish reh gayi hai life mein but that’s that.”
Radhika, who played the daughter of late Irrfan Khan in Angrezi Medium, said, “With Irrfan, the stakes was so high for me that I actually didn’t enjoy my time with him. I just need to prove myself. I’m standing in front of THE Irrfan Khan. So, I used to be too stressed about the scenes and my performance and I could only envision him as my father. I couldn’t observe him as an actor. And I was just reacting to him. I can tell you by far it has been the easiest film to shoot because my co-actor was phenomenal. We never did a lot of takes kyuki mujhe bas itne brilliant actor pe sirf reaction dena hai. Mera kaam khatam ho chukka hai.”
Radhika reveals what she learned from him
She added, “One thing that I took from him was that he was always a student. Agar agle din important scene hai, aur mera ghabrana banta hai, aur mein dekhti hu agar woh bhi up and down pace kar rahe hai apne kamre ke bahar aur Homi (Adajania) ko bol rahe ‘yaar kal ke scene mein kya karna hai?’. Aur mujhe lag raha hai aap toh Irrfan Khan ho na. Aapn toh khade bhi ho jaoge tab bhi bohot badi baat hai. (If there’s an important scene tomorrow and if I get nervours its understandable, and I see he’s also pacing up and down outside his room and asking Homi, ‘Dude, What do I have to do in tomorrow’s scene?’ And I’m thinking to myself ‘You’re Irrfan Khan. Evn if you stand up, it’s a big deal). So, I just took that thing from him. And yes, I had a beautiful experience working with him.”
Irrfan Khan passed away at the age of 53 on April 29, 2020 due to cancer-related complications.
Nimrat Kaur talks about working with Akshay Kumar
During the candid conversation, Nimrat and Radhika also opened up about working with Akshay Kumar. Nimrat played Akshay’s wife in Airlift. Talking about him, she said, “He is so chilled out. A ball of energy. Somebody who’s just coming in to have a good time. Come in, have a blast on the set, work and then out. The best thing about working with him is that you pack up early. You go back home and get time to sleep.” Radhika, who will be seen sharing screen space with him in the remake of Soorarai Pottru, agreed to Nimrat.
