It has been five years since Nimrat Kaur appeared in Season 4 of ‘Homeland’. She played the character Tasneem Qureshi, a member of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Now, the actress has returned to the eighth and final season of the American TV series. It will go on air in June this year.
The ‘Lunchbox’ actress told Mumbai Mirror, “It came as a complete surprise because the first time I was approached, I’d been told that it was for just that one season as every season is a different story usually set in a different country.”
While talking about the eighth season, she said that it is a new story set in Pakistan and Afghanistan where America’s longest war continues. “Tasneem is now a senior member of the ISI and from what I’ve been told, I’ll still be the ‘Face of Pakistan’ in the show,” added Nimrat.
Recalling the earlier season of her, Nimrat said that it was tough for her initially to play the role of an out-and-out villain, but later on, she enjoyed playing her character. She said, “The audience also gave me a lot of love in a sadistic way, taking me back to my childhood days when I loved to hate Mogambo.”
She will be in Casablanca for the shoot and will be shooting for the next few months. Nimrat will also be seen in the second season of an Indian series.
