Art director Nitin Desai passed away on 2nd August. He was found dead at his ND Studios in Karjat. Following his death, it was reported that he took his own life as he was not able to repay a huge loan. Now, Mansi Desai, daughter of Nitin Desai, addressed these reports. The art director’s daughter made it clear that her father never had an intention to cheat anyone. She also revealed details about his loan. Furthermore, she requested the Maharashtra government to give her father ‘justice’.

Nitin Desai’s daughter reveals details about his loan

She told ANI, “My father had no intention to cheat anyone and he was going to make all the payments that he promised. Due to the pandemic, there was no work and the studio was closed. And due to this, he was not able to make his regular payments.”

Mansi further revealed that her father had borrowed a loan of Rs 181 crore, out of which he paid Rs 86.31 crore. She shared, “The loan amount was Rs 181 crore, and we already made a payment of Rs 86.31 crore. We made all the payments in Feb 2020. Then they also wanted a six-month interest which my father paid by selling his office in Powai. He had no intention to fraud anyone and he was going to make all payments that he had promised.” She added that the loan company gave him ‘false assurances’ and initiated legal proceedings against him.

She further requested the media to stop making false statements against her father. “We would like to request the media to stop making defamatory statements against him and stop spreading false information. Please consult us before releasing any information,” she added.

She then requested the Maharashtra government to look into the matter and give her father justice. Mansi said, “I appeal to the government of Maharashtra to look into this matter and also, as per his last wish, take charge of ND Studios. Please give him justice.”

Nitin Desai’s last rites took place on Friday. His funeral was attended by Aamir Khan, Sonali Kulkarni, Subodh Bhave, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali among others.

The art director is now survived by his wife, daughter Mansi and son Siddhant.
