No ban on the release of Jimmy Sheirgill starrer ‘Shorgul’

A social worker had filed a PIL seeking a ban on the release of Jimmy Sheirgill starrer ‘Shorgul’. However, today, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court quashed the plea.

As per the reports, the social worker is a local leader of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Meerut. He had filed the petition alleging that certain scenes in the movie might disturb social harmony.

The movie is based on friendship between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl that turns into a political issue leading to discontent and disorder in society. It will be releasing on June 24.
