‘No Filter Neha’: Kajol reveals how she got married to Ajay Devgn, who is poles apart from her

Kajol and Ajay Devgn got hitched on February 24, 1999, and with many ups and downs in their married life, they made sure to be with each other through thick and thin. Recently Kajol appeared on Neha Dhupia’s chat show ‘No Filter Neha’ where she spoke at length about the hurdles she had to go through while marrying Ajay Devgn.

The ‘Helicopter Eela’ actress said that both her and Ajay’s families opposed their marriage. “My family also was iffy. My dad didn’t talk to me for a week when I told him I wanted to get married. He was just like why do you want to get married, you’re so young and your career is doing so well and I was like but I want to get married. Ajay and I were very different people, so lots of people had reservations as to what we would be like as a couple and we were not very social even then. Not a lot of people had met us together or knew what we were like together,” said Kajol.

She further said, “We have survived because both of us have worked through it together and we have two kids. It’s almost like we have become like one person who has these two children like their arms.”

On the professional front, Kajol made her comeback with Pradeep Sarkar’s ‘Helicopter Eela’. In the film she is playing a single mother and has got rave reviews from the audiences as well as critics for her performance.
