As Shah Rukh Khan gets replaced in Don 3, Farhan Akhtar drops a HINT about the lead character

Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar left everyone in a tizzy when he announced the arrival of Don 3. Though the small clip didn’t reveal the main lead, it is speculated that Shah Rukh Khan will not headline Don 3. It was reported that Ranveer Singh will be replacing SRK to play the role of Don. Well, now, Farhan took to his Instagram and dropped an official statement which is quite evident that Shah Rukh is not a part of the movie. He also hinted at the lead character and we are intrigued to know more about it.

Farhan started his note by saying how the original Don left an impact with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. He wrote, “In 1978, a character created by Salim-Javed and portrayed by Mr Amitabh Bachchan with effortless elan, captured the imagination of theatregoers across the country. That enigmatic character was Don.”

Akhtar then recalled his experience working with Khan in the remake version. He continued, “In 2006, Don was reimagined and brought to life by Shah Rukh Khan in his own irresistibly charming way. From Don’s sardonic wit to his cool but menacing fury, Shah Rukh embodied his persona. As writer & director, I had a great time creating not one but two Don films with Shah Rukh and both experiences remain very close to my heart.”

Furthermore, the Dil Dhadakne Do actor stated, “The time has now come to take the legacy of Don forward and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have admired. We hope that you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.” He then concluded his note by saying, “A new era of Don begins in 2025.“

Seems like Don 3 will be released in 2025. And we can’t wait to see who will be carrying forward this legacy. Nevertheless, fans loved Shah Rukh Khan in the Don series and were hoping to see him again in the third part. After the announcement of Don 3, fans demanded saying they want Shah Rukh Khan only. Though it is pretty clear that Khan is not going to be in the movie, it seems Ranveer will join Farhan.
