Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi on Monday, December 12 has filed a defamation suit against her fellow actor Jacqueline Fernandez and some 15 media houses in a Delhi court in connection with Rs. 200-crore money laundering case where ‘conman’ Sukesh Chandrashekhar is the main accused. The case has been reportedly filed for alleged defamatory remarks made by the Ram Setu actress. Nora accused the media organisations of “carrying forward and circulating” Jacqueline’s remarks against her. Nora also claimed that Jacqueline and the media organisations “were acting in connivance with each other”.
As per reports, in the petition filed through her lawyer, Nora has claimed, “A conspiracy by the accused No. 1 (Jacqueline Fernandez) to ensure the financial, social, and personal downfall of the complainant was hatched, and enacted by the said action.”
The petition further stated, “Her rapidly progressing career quite obviously has threatened her rivals who are unable to compete with her on a fair footing”.
It also added, “It has started to become evident that the aforementioned rivals being unable to compete with the complainant fairly in the industry have started to try and tarnish her reputation which would cause her loss of work and hence would open up greener pastures for her rivals in the industry”.

Along with Jacqueline, earlier, Nora’s name also appeared during an investigation against conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar in the Rs 200 crore money-laundering case and she was questioned separately by the agency on numerous occasions. Fernandez’s name came in the case after it was revealed that she received expensive gifts from Sukesh. The O Saki Saki fame actress also allegedly received gifts from Sukesh. But she had denied receiving any gifts from the conman.
For the unversed, earlier in a plea before the Appellate Authority of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), Jacqueline had clearly stated that it is surprising that like her some other celebrities, notably, Norah Fatehi, were also conned by Sukesh but Nora Fatehi and other celebs who received gifts are produced as witnesses, while she has been accused in the case.
