Ranveer Singh replaces Akshay Kumar

The 2008 comedy ‘Singh is Kinng’, is one movie which is still remembered for its rib-tickling content, and Akshay Kumar’s perfect comic timing. His act as the adorable Happy Singh, won everyone over. However, now that the talks of a sequel were buzzing, we were heartbroken to know that he won’t be a part of the same. However, worry not, as someone who is totally apt for stepping into Akshay’s shoes and get the energetic Singh act on, is on board the project. We are talking about none other than Ranveer Singh.

Yes, producer Shailendra Singh, told Mid-Day about the same. The sequel, titled ‘Sher Singh’, will see Ranveer Singh in the titular role. The producer said that he wanted to name the movie ‘Singh Is Kinng’, but Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the producer of the original, refused the same. He also revealed that Sher Singh is going to play a superhero. Ranveer Singh as a superhero, sounds interesting, just without extraordinary powers, in the words of Singh.

The producer opens, “Ranveer has all the characteristics needed to play a sardar, just like Akshay and Ajay Devgn do. I narrated the story to him in one line about a month-and-a-half ago, and discussed his look too. He expressed interest in the project and asked me for a 10-page script, which I will send him this week.” (Also Read: Ranveer Singh: The man who’s giving Johnny Depp’s ‘Mad Hatter’ some stiff competition)
