If it was up to CBFC, the chapter on reproduction in schools would be scrapped, and we would instead be shown cartoons that depict storks bringing infants to the parents. Their demands on cuts on movies have started becoming more and more ridiculous day by day, and we have yet another example of the same.
This time, the movie that has fallen prey to CBFC’s unreasonable demands, is Imtiaz Ali’s latest, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. And it is for something so outrageous that you would want to bang your head against the wall.
Ready for it? Brace yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, for the CBFC wants to censor/remove the word ‘intercourse’ in the second mini trail of the movie. Yes, that’s true. Only then, the trailer will be given a U/A certificate for being aired on television, according to CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani. Most of us have already watched the mini trail in question on YouTube (and uncensored, thank goodness), the second one which had Anushka’s character giving Shah Rukh’s character an indemnity bond.
However, what Nihalani was not aware of, was the fact that many TV channels downloaded the mini trailer and aired it. The chief says he will take strict action against the same.
Let’s see what developments take place on this front. The movie will hit the screens on August 4.
