Director Tinu Suresh Desai says the makers will not push the release date of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Rustom‘, which is set to have a box office clash with Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’.
There were reports that the makers of ‘Rustom’ might shift the film, scheduled to release on August 12, as the Hrithik Roshan-starrer ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is releasing on the same date.
When asked, Tinu told PTI, “No nothing like that. We are coming on August 12 too as scheduled.”
Yesterday, a spokesperson of Ashutosh Gowariker Productions had denied any change in release dates of ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and said they are all set to open the film on the scheduled date.
‘Mohenjo Daro’ is an epic love story, set in the Indus Valley civilisation.
Reportedly, the film is about the protagonist falling in love with his enemy’s daughter. Hrithik and newcomer Pooja Hegde feature in the lead roles.
The Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz-starrer ‘Rustom’ is reportedly based on the 1959 Nanavati case where Naval officer Kavas Maneckshaw Nanavati was tried for the murder of his wife’s lover, Prem Ahuja.
Akshay, 48, plays a Naval officer in the film which also stars Esha Gupta.
