Nushrratt Bharuccha: ‘Chhalaang’ has been one of the most tiring roles that I have done so far

‘Chhalaang’ is all set to release this week and the excitement is over the top. It is releasing exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Recently, we had a video interaction with Rajkummar Rao, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Hansal Mehta where they spoke about the film and their shooting experiences.

Nushrratt said, “‘Chhalaang’ has been one of my most tiring, difficult, out of the box roles that I have done so far. But also very enjoyable. One of the reasons is the kids who were on sets with us. Their energy was so infectious ki hum saab usmein kho jate the. The whole experience was very interesting.”

On working with Hansal Mehta yet again, Rajkummar said, “Sir ke saath kaam karne main humesha bohot maaza aata hain bhalehi hum ek serious film bana rahe hoh ya ek biopic ya fir ek light-hearted film. Kyunki bohot maaze karte karte hum heavy kaam bhi kar lete hain aur pata bhi nahi chalta hain. I think that’s the USP we share.”

Mehta is known for films depicting social and political issues in most of his films. When we asked him what made him direct ‘Chhalaang’, the filmmaker said, “Luv (Ranjan) ne mujhe jab ye kaahani narrate kiya, toh maine kaha ki ye ek mouka hain to direct the Luv Ranjan film. So you always find a new reason to do. Meri aur Raj ki journey jo saath main rahi hain, usmein shayad ye ek genre explore karna reh gaya tha. Toh humne ye bhi explore kiya.”
