Oh! Aditya Chopra was not too keen to sign Shah Rukh Khan for ‘Darr’

Writer and filmmaker Samar Khan has penned a book on Shah Rukh Khan and some important revelations have been made in his book. We all know that father-son filmmaker duo of Yash Chopra- Aditya Chopra are responsible in a great way to help launch Shah Rukh Khan’s career by offering him his first ever negative role in the movie ‘Darr’.

Now, in the book, which includes some snippets from interviews of various filmmakers, the book has revealed a confession made by ace filmmaker Aditya Chopra. As mentioned in the book, Adi Chopra has confessed that he did not like SRK much, when he cast him for the movie ‘Darr’. Chopra said,“When we cast him for ‘Darr’, to be honest, neither dad, nor I really liked him. But somehow, may be because everyone kept rejecting the negative part, we ended up signing him.”

Work wise, SRK will be seen in Gauri Shinde’s ‘Dear Zindagi’ next that also stars Alia Bhatt in the lead.
