OMG – Anushka Sharma gains 35 kg for ‘Bombay Velvet’

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma known for her waif like figure has gained around 35 kgs. Before you brain starts working overtime let me clear it for you that No, she has not piled on the pounds. Anushka has been weighed down by an elaborate gown which she dons for the role of a jazz singer in Bombay Velvet.

As per sources, Anushka Sharma will be wearing the green and gold gown for her opening song in Bombay Velvet. It has been designed by costume designer Niharika Bhasin Khan. The sequined gown, with a long train, is covered in applique flames and Anushka literally needed plenty of help to carry it off.

As per sources,Designer Niharika said, “The scene sees her behind the mic in a club. It took her two-and-half hours to dress and two assistants had to carry the train for her. Thankfully she did not have to dance in it.” , says that weight was not the only challenge they faced.

Niharika further added that the weight was not the only challenge that they faced.”The prep was on for a year but the dress was damaged in transit. The upper half was ruined in the Sri Lanka rains. We had to re-do the damaged part.”
