OMG – Ranveer Singh going Bald

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is to play a historical character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Ranveer will play the role of the 18th century Maratha general and statesman Bajirao Peshwa. The actor said in order to portray the character of the historical figure of Bajirao in the upcoming film ‘Bajirao Mastani’.  He will have to shave off his hair, work on his look and the physical aspect to get to the skin of his character.

As per sources, Ranveer Singh confessed,“Preparations for ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is very intense. I will have to learn Marathi, horse riding, pick up the accent and do a lot of work for the character. I will have to shave off my hair, work on my look and the physical aspect. I have allotted fair amount of time to prepare for this film. It is a large commitment for me to give (time) for one project, but the film demands it and I am more than happy to do it. I believe in the director and the film. Through this film we are trying to achieve something that hopefully will be landmark in our cinema.”

Sources further added that,”Ranveer would have to get his language and diction completely right. The director doesn’t want a hue and cry over the language being mis-pronounced. Ranveer is already familiar with Marathi and can even speak the language, but for this role he needs to get the nuances and layering right. Ranveer Singh needs to look convincing as a Maratha warrior. He also needs to acquire a more somber image than the one he has. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has asked Ranveer to control his nervous energy off screen and use it for the role.”

Priyanka Chopra and DeepikaPadukone too are a part of this magnum opus.
