Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi who recently debuted in ‘Hero’, might soon be evicted from his home. Sooraj and his family have been living in a bungalow in Juhu since 1960 at a meagre rent of Rs 150 a month. In 1977 their landlady had filed a suit claiming they owed three months’ rent. The case has been won by the landlady and thus Sooraj Pancholi’s family might soon find themselves evicted from the said property that is quite close to ISKCON temple near Juhu.
Sources revealed that, “The Bombay High Court has rejected the plea of Aditya Pancholi and his family to retain the tenancy rights over their Juhu bungalow. The Court has given them time till November 5 to challenge the order. If they lose, then the family has to evict the bungalow. They are likely to approach the Supreme Court in the matter.”
Sources further added, The legal owners of the bungalow, had filed a case against the Pancholis for not paying rent from February to October 1977. Sooraj pancholi’s father Aditya Pancholi had claimed that he had not received any such letter. They even claimed that though they had tried to pay the rent the Landlady had refused to accept it on many an occasion. To which the court stated that the fact that Aditya Pancholi was not paying off the arrears of rent was detrimental to their case.
We shall keep you updated on this matter soon.
