After eight years, Aditya Chopra is back to helming a film again. His last flick ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ ensured an impactful debut for Anushka Sharma. While Chopra carries YRF’s tradition of creating romantic flicks, ‘Befikre’ surely is an exception in terms of style and content.
Hollywood art director Anne Siebel who has also worked with Woody Allen and was also nominated for the Academy Awards, was roped in for ‘Befikre’ and has fallen in love with how Chopra rediscovered Paris.
“Aditya told me right at the start that he wanted to do something different from usual… something like ‘When Harry Met Sally’ (1989), but closer to ‘A Bout de Souffle’ (1960), which is intrinsically more European. Aditya knows what he wants and it’s a pleasure to have a director who has the film inside out in his head. Though he is mostly flexible, he could be quite a taskmaster when needed,” Siebel said.
“It made me rediscover the city from a fresh perspective. Moreover, this could be my first work project with Bollywood, but I have watched a lot of Hindi movies and I love them. On set, it felt like working with family amid laughter and spicy Indian food,” she added.

The film has been shot in almost all iconic locations of Paris, including Eiffel Tower, Buttes Chaumont and Notre Dame. The makers intended to depict Paris through eyes familiar to the city. Europe has its approach to romance and ‘Befikre’ already promises a taste different than what YRF films have given us so far.
