Akshay Kumar is a busy man with a lot of films lined up. But one very interesting film that we are eagerly looking forward to is ‘Pad Man’. This film is based on the life of a man named Arunachalam Muruganantham who invented a technique to produce low-price sanitary napkins for women of rural areas. He was the one to educate the women about the bad effects of unhygienic methods used to deal with menstruation. Akshay Kumar would be essaying the titular role in this film while Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte would be the leading ladies. As we await the trailer of the film, the makers have titillated us with the motion poster of ‘Pad Man’. Sonam is going to essay the role of a teacher in this film and in the motion poster we hear her teaching something important to Akshay. The motion poster reveals that ‘Pad Man’ is two words and not one.
P-A-D + M-A-N = PAD MAN

Yes, it is that simple.
Directed by R Balki, ‘Pad Man’ is slated to release on Republic Day next year, i.e. on January 26. Amitabh Bachchan is said to have a cameo in this film. Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna has donned the hat of a producer for the first time and is backing this film along with KriArj Productions and Sony Pictures. ‘Pad Man’ would be clashing with Siddharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Aiyaary’.
Meanwhile, Akshay has films like ‘Moghul’, ‘Gold’, ‘2.0’ and many others to work on. He also has a film with Karan Johar named ‘Kesari’ which is under production.
