Padmaavat row: 1908 women register to commit jauhar if the film releases

Fighting against the odds, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ is all set to release on January 25, 2018. The CBFC as well as the Supreme Court has given the green signal to this film. But Karni Sena is in no mood to step back from their protest. Even the ladies have joined the protest now. Latest buzz is that 1,908 women from Chittorgarh have registered to commit jauhar if the film releases.

As per reports, thousands of women carried out a Chetavani Rally in Chittorgarh demanding a ban on the film or a permission to end their life. As per a news agency, almost 1,908 females have registered to commit jauhar on 24th January if the film releases.

Further Shri Rajput Karni Sena spokesperson Vijendra Singh confirmed that they have got in touch with theatre owners who have promised to not release the film. “On Sunday, we contacted around 100 cinema halls in the National Capital Region and they have given in writing that they will not screen the film,” he said. Let’s wait and watch whether ‘Padmaavat’ manages to get a smooth release or not.
