‘PadMan’ Poster: Akshay on pile of cotton makes him every bit of a FEMINIST

We all know that Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the real-life character of Arunachalam Muruganantham on the big screen in the film ‘PadMan’. The poster of the movie is out now, and it suits the film’s theme.

Akshay took to Twitter to unveil the poster. He tweeted, “Super hero hai yeh pagla, aa raha hai 26th January, 2018 ko : #PadMan! @PadManTheFilm @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte @mrsfunnybones @SonyPicsIndia @kriarj #RBalki.”

‘PadMan’ is directed by R Balki, and also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles. It will be hitting the screens on January 26, 2017. Akshay’s other film ‘2.0’ is also slated to release on the same day, but it looks like the Rajinikanth-Akshay-starrer might get postponed.

‘PadMan’ marks Twinkle Khanna’s debut as a producer under her banner Mrs Funnybones Movies. In her second book, ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, the actress-turned-writer had chapter based on Arunachalam Muruganantham which was also named as ‘padman’.

Talking about the actresses, while Radhika will be seen as Akshay’s wife in the film, Sonam will be portraying the role of his English teacher. People, who have read the book, would know that both the actresses will surely be having strong roles in the film. The movie will have a cameo by Amitabh Bachchan. We are sure if you have read the book then you will surely have high expectations from the film as the chapter in Twinkle’s book was written wonderfully.

If the clash with ‘2.0’ is averted, ‘PadMan’ will still be clashing with Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’ which stars Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role. Akshay and Neeraj share a great rapport with each other and have teamed up with many films. It will be interesting to see if this clash will take place or it will be averted.
